In 2009, life took a turn for the better. It led to the creation of a blog that illustrated inviting content for an audience looking for home decor inspiration. It initially started as a hobby, posting little snippets and new ideas. Soon enough, it became a platform that welcomed numerous people. During those times, Sue De Chiara wondered about the possibility of having a career of her own. That same year, she started “The Zhush,” home to great decor and lifestyle content.
Sue’s lifestyle blog captures the essence of home decor. She carries and handles little projects in her own home, completing them with great finesse. Her signature touch on home projects is a great motivation as she jots down all the preliminary steps. She explains to clients while sharing the progress with her audience. Staying up to date with her tasks and projects, Sue has directed her attention by giving herself One Room Challenges.
These One Room Challenges are designed to show the viewers what they can do and how they can add a more aesthetic appeal to each room in their living space. Due to these challenges, Sue has worked on her guest bathroom, kitchen, and laundry room. Viewers have taken this as a motivation and jumped on the bandwagon with this challenge, creating their own one-room challenges and sharing the results with Sue.
As a result of these numerous One Room Challenges, Sue has gained recognition. She is currently working as a part-time Home Editor for Bedford & Canaan Magazine. Unleashing her own spin on design and style in the guest bathroom led to her being featured on Home Beautiful. Later on, she was contacted by the company for a FaceBook live introduction. Home Beautiful also did a piece of Sue’s homely living room which has reached thousands. Sue’s laundry room transformation was innovative and had a style of its own which gained the attention of Canadian and Australian magazines.
What sets Sue apart is her transparency, her ability to take control of the living space and transform it in such a way that leaves everyone astounded. All are covered, from the style she envisions to the color coordination, the furbishing, the budget, and even the installments. She wants to give her viewers a clear and authentic view of the process.
Instead of shying away, she enlists all the necessary tricks and tips, what difficulties she faced, and how she overcame them. This has made Sue an approachable figure and invoked a sense of accomplishment in her audience. Sue lists all the details to ensure that those she is reaching out to are not left hanging. She planned to create a blog, post her progress, and take small steps toward home decor. It changed when people started showing their profuse love and admiration. Sue is “zhushing” up people’s lives and homes with her creativity.
