Entering the entertainment industry is no small feat, and many dream of achieving employment and fame. This era has seen some extraordinary individuals make history with their remarkable contributions to visual arts. However, numerous aspiring actors, singers, dancers, directors, producers, writers, etc., desire recognition for their work so they can be immortalized amongst these legends.
John D Hickman is an American actor and producer on the rise, in the Hollywood film industry. How he started is a story of chance and playing with fate. John always wanted to be an actor while growing up, but the small town of Alabama had little to no opportunities to offer. His parents also discouraged his dream, finding his ambitions to be rather far-fetched for someone with no training and background in acting.
So, he gave up his dream and began to work at his family’s poultry farm to support his daughter. As luck would have it, in 2011, John was simply going about his day when he came across a charity auction where the highest bidder could win a walk-on role on the television show True Blood. Being a fan of the show, John decided to try his luck and, to his surprise, he won. And this marked the beginning of his journey to stardom.
John began to receive offers from several television shows for a limited role, and he was more than happy to accept them. His role in True Blood led to a position on The Originals, leading to The Vampire Diaries, and eventually WestWorld. He didn’t stop at the small screen, though. John has had the chance to work on films alongside the greats such as Al Pacino, Bruce Willis, Pierce Brosnan, and James Franco, to name a few.
Over a few years, his list of accomplishments has expanded. John has appeared in more than 40 films and television shows. With the ever-expanding profile of high-end projects, John has proven that no matter what age a person might be, one can still fulfill their dream ambition while succeeding and making a name for themselves.
