Empathy is more than just a powerful quality; it is a way of living. Being empathetic allows you to be kind, compassionate, and authentic – it helps one to understand and connect with people from all walks of life. It has been one of the major driving forces in Karen Thomson’s life. Had she been deprived of empathy, she might not have worked for the betterment of others.
Karen grew up facing several challenges, including battling a severe addiction to cocaine, alcohol and sugar. She tried to find hope, approval, and some semblance of worthiness in these adverse substances. What she found, however, was loss and agony, eventually mislaying her true self. Nonetheless, Karen did not back down. She overcame her addiction to sugar as well as cocaine and alcohol.
Sometimes, your own triumphant story becomes a source of inspiration for you. It motivates you to tell it to the world and use it to help the ones going through similar suffering. Karen realized that she had the power to make people’s lives better, and that is what she is doing now.
After working with individuals suffering from eating disorders and addiction, Karen identified the need for an assistive program. She collaborated with doctors, dieticians, psychiatrists, counselors, and nutritionists to formulate a top-notch treatment program. As a result, the Sugar-Free Revolution was born to help those addicted to sugar and carbs.
While Karen continues to assist people in healing their relationship with food, she has also decided to go on another route: helping people curb their addiction to alcohol and other addictive substances, and appreciating sobriety. To achieve this goal, she has given birth to another brainchild – Super Sexy Sobriety. It is an informative coaching platform that celebrates Karen’s sobriety as well as others.
Super Sexy Sobriety is launching its podcast, My Super Sexy Sobriety Podcast, and a coaching platform afterward. Moreover, Karen also posts motivational content on social media networks, including Youtube, TikTok, and Instagram, regarding sobriety and the wonders it has brought to her life.
Karen believes in her capability to inspire people because of her honesty, relatability, and passion. She constantly advocates the joys of alcohol abstinence and how she has evolved into her best, unapologetic self after giving it up. Ultimately, her long-term goal is to have open conversations about sobriety, and change the conception that it makes one’s life uninteresting; Leaving alcohol in the past does not mean that you leave everything good behind. Goodness is everywhere around us, and sobriety lets us recognize that good, making it more distinct.
If someone is dealing with addiction, they must not lose hope. Successful stories like Karen’s are a reminder that you can overcome your difficulties and build a happy, healthy, and a beautiful life against all odds.
